The Sonderkommandos had become rich by murdering Polish patients. For the donation mentioned in the letter from the ‘Sonderkommando Lange,’ 1,510 people had been murdered. Money was an important motivation for the 85 men of the ‘Sonderkommando Lange’ to continue murdering as many people as possible. No one questioned the mass murder. On the contrary, everyone was rewarded and honoured by the highest authorities.
