THEODOR JENCKEL (1873 – 1941)

Theodor Jenckel was one of the victims of »Aktion T4« who came from Lüneburg. His family lived on Am Sande, where a Stolperstein was laid for him in 2009. Theodor Jenckel left secondary school without a qualification and went on to become a mechanical engineer. During his training, he fell ill and became a patient at the Lüneburg sanatorium and nursing home in 1901. More than three decades later, he was »registered for hereditary biology« based on his »racial biological value«. The physician Rudolf Redepenning selected him for »Aktion T4«. The date of the transfer entered on the form and the diagnosis of »schizophrenia« added there also bear his handwriting.
